Sheriff’s Office: Logan man admits to starting fire ‘because he hates churches’

YOUNG WARD, Utah — Cache County deputies have arrested a man who they said started a fire inside a church, then called 911 to report it.

According to a news release from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Antonio Justin Rosa was able to enter a church in Young Ward by breaking a window.

The statement said Rosa then started the fire in the kitchen and serving area before calling 911.

Fire crews quickly arrived and to contained the fire.

Rosa admitted to starting the fire because he hates churches, the statement said.

Rosa was booked into Cache County Jail for Aggravated Arson and Burglary.
