NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah – A grass fire burned about more than an acre of land in North Salt Lake Thursday.

South Davis fire crews said a downed power line sparked the flames near Center St. and Redwood Rd. around noon.

Officials said a backhoe was working in the grass when it hit the power pole and knocked off the lines.

Fire crews were able to contain the blaze in about 30 minutes and no one was injured.

Rocky Mountain Power has secured the power lines.
