Police seek public’s help in locating homicide suspect

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect in a homicide that occurred in Salt Lake City last week.

On July 6, Salt Lake City police officers responded to a welfare check at 1459 S. Roberta Street where they discovered Edwin Walker, 57, dead in his bedroom, according to a press release from Salt Lake City police.

Detectives are looking for Jill Rae Montoya, 34, who is considered to be a suspect in Walker’s death.

It was reported that Montoya was known to frequent the area of 1300 South and State Street. The release states she has recently been seen in other parts of the Salt Lake valley.
