SALT LAKE CITY — Two men are in custody after robbing a taco cart at gunpoint in Salt Lake City Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The robbery occurred at about 1:20 p.m. in the area of 950 North and 900 West.

Officers out on calls saw the suspects’ vehicle and attempted to stop them when they fled, said Greg Wilking, spokesman for Salt Lake City police.

The vehicle was seen again by police in the area of 600 South and Navajo Street. When the driver in the suspected vehicle attempted to make a turn , he lost control and crashed, Wilking said.

One of the men fled on foot and the other suspect stayed near the vehicle.
