WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - Officials said nine horses, a goat and a sheep died in a barn fire early Monday morning in West Valley City.
Authorities were called to the flames at 3450 S. 6400 W. at about 3:30 a.m.
Officials said one Shetland pony survived because it was tied to a pole outside the barn.
Fire crews have not said what sparked the flames.
They said the barn did not have electricity.
Neighbors told Fox 13 they heard fireworks going off on or near the property overnight.
