PROVO, Utah — Several angry Brigham Young University sports fans rallied around the hashtag “#LetThePeopleTailgateafter an image was posted Thursday that appeared to outline changes to tailgating policies at the school, but according to BYU officials the information was an error.

Things started when fans who received their season tickets found a page in the accompanying information book outlining tailgating policies. The page, pictured in the tweet below, included a list of bullet points that included “No RV parking” and a rule that lot 20 would only open to tailgaters four hours prior to kick-off.

Upset fans began tweeting their displeasure with the perceived changes, with many of them using the hashtag “#LetThePeopleTailgate.” But, later Thursday evening, the official BYU Cougars Twitter profile stated that the packet included with season tickets had a mistake and that the rules had not changed.

A second tweet stated the tailgating rules are unchanged from the rules implemented in 2014, which can be found on the Cougars’ website.
