SANDY, Utah - A woman is recovering after a Sandy officer pulled her from a burning car overnight.

Authorities said 19-year-old Jessica Guisinger was driving west on Dimple Dell Rd. near 1600 E. at about 1 a.m. when her car drifted and ran into a tree in a front yard.

Investigators said the impact of the crash caused the woman's car to catch fire.

When Officer Trevor McClelland got to the wreck, he saw Guisinger in the burning car and pulled her from the vehicle.

Authorities said she is in the hospital in serious condition.

Officers said alcohol was a factor in the crash.

They have not said what charges Guisinger could face at this time.
