KEARNS, Utah -- A man who suffered fatal injuries in a car accident in Kearns has been identified.
Eric Douglas Forney, 34, was driving when he hit several cars and then crashed into a residence, and police at the scene said it appears the man was under the influence when he crashed.
The crash occurred in the area of 5855 South Tressler Road (4470 West), and FOX 13 News first heard reports of the crash around 7:30 p.m.
Police at the scene tell FOX 13 News' Kelly Keitier the driver may have been under the influence when the crash occurred. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle leave the road and veer onto the sidewalk, and it reportedly struck several other cars before impacting a home.
The residents of that home were not injured, and the couple who lives inside tells FOX 13 News they heard the noise and came outside to find the driver deceased. Police say Forney had at least one prior charge for DUI.
FOX 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.
