Record number of concealed weapon permits revoked by Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification

Posted

Through June of this year, the state has revoked 399 weapons permits, which is on track to be a near record number of concealed weapons permits revoked.

So far, more than the 12-month totals for each of the previous three years have been revoked -- 81 percent of them were for insufficient fingerprints.

Jason Chapman with the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification, was in studio Tuesday to talk about why the permits are being revoked and what it means to have insufficient fingerprints.
