HEBER CITY, Utah — A Heber City man was taken into custody last week on suspicion of having sex multiple times with a minor, according to court documents released Tuesday.

The alleged sexual encounters came to light when the 16-year-old female victim told her mother she had been having a sexual relationship with 21-year-old Alec Joshua Brewer for more than a year.

The relationship started when the girl was 15 and Brewer was 20 years old. It was not disclosed how the victim and Brewer met.

The victim’s mother reported the sexual relationship to Heber City police.

The teen told police she had sex with Brewer 20 to 50 times over the past year. The first time they had sex was shortly after or close to her 15th birthday, documents state.

The victim told police Brewer would pick her up from either City Park on Main Street or from the side of her home in his silver then take her to his grandparents’ home where he is currently living.

Once at the home, the teen told police they would have sex in his room.

Police went to Brewer’s home on Sept. 4 and he was taken into custody. He was booked into the Wasatch County Jail on five counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, all third-degree felonies.
