RIVERDALE, Utah — Police in Weber County have arrested a suspect for murder and obstruction of justice after the body of a 25-year-old man was found on the Riverdale Parkway Trail early Sunday morning.
According to a press release from the Riverdale Police Department issued Sunday evening, the man was found dead from a gunshot wound in the vicinity of 4350 South along Riverdale Parkway Trail around 5:22 a.m.
The Weber-Morgan Homicide Task Force assisted Riverdale PD in developing the case and interviewing several people.
Authorities stated in the press release their investigation led them to arrest 20-year-old Luciano Silva of Riverdale for murder and two counts of obstruction of justice.
Silva was booked into the Weber County Jail Sunday evening.
Authorities stated they are not releasing the victim’s identity at this time, as they said they have had difficulty in finding his next of kin in order to notify family of the death.
Police contacted by FOX 13 News for more details on the investigation stated they were not releasing any further information beyond what was stated in the press release until at least Monday.
