OGDEN, Utah — A man was taken to a hospital with injuries described as not being life-threatening Sunday after he was shot twice, and police are searching for an adult male in connection with the shooting.

Lt. Lane Findlay, Weber County Sheriff’s Office, said they received a report of the incident around 1:42 p.m. and responded to the Lake Park Apartments, located at 4950 South 350 East in Washington Terrace in the Ogden area.

Findlay said the 19-year-old man had been shot twice and was transported to a hospital with injuries believed to be not life-threatening.  The man was shot once in the chest and once in the leg.

Police have not arrested a suspect at this time, and Findlay said at this point it appears the shooting may have been drug-related.

According to a press release, there is a possibility the victim and suspect knew each other.

Police have limited information about the suspect, but stated he is described as being a black male between the ages of 18 and 20 who has short, black hair. He was reportedly last seen wearing a gray shirt and was last observed running north through the apartment complex.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the shooting is asked to contact the Weber County Sheriff’s Office at 801-629-8221.

The identities of those involved have not been released. FOX 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.
