Utah ranked 18, BYU 22 in AP Poll for Week 4

UTAH — Utah defeated Fresno handily Saturday night while the Brigham Young University Cougars fell to No. 10 UCLA by a narrow margin, and the AP Top 25 poll for Week 4 shows the Utes climbing while the Cougars slid slightly.

According to the poll, Utah comes in at No. 18, three steps up from last week’s ranking of 21. Utah beat Fresno 45-24 in California Saturday night, click here for a recap.

The BYU Cougars were No. 19 in Week 3 according to the AP, and after losing by a single point at the Bruins Saturday night, they slid three spaces to No. 22 in Week 4. BYU held a 10-point lead over UCLA heading into the final quarter Saturday, but after a resurgent Bruins took the lead at 24-23 BYU couldn’t recreate the last-minute winsof their first two outings this season, which were at Nebraska and vs Boise State.
