MURRAY, Utah — A teenage boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition after a shooting late Tuesday night.
According to Murray police, the shooting occurred shortly before midnight near 4500 S 500 W.
Police said it started with a fight at a party and two groups of people left the party in three separate cars. Sgt. Huff of the Murray Police Department said one of those cars, a light-colored Cadillac, followed a blue compact car and someone in the Cadillac opened fire.
A bullet went through the right-rear side of the compact car and struck the 16-year-old driver in the head.
Police said the shooting victim was able to speak after the incident, but he required surgery. According to Huff, the people in the third vehicle witnessed the shooting, but were not otherwise involved.
Murray police have been interviewing the witnesses, but have not released the names or descriptions of any potential suspects.
