BOUNTIFUL, Utah -- A 13-year-old Bountiful boy who disappeared Saturday afternoon has been found safe.

According to Bountiful police, a citizen spotted Sami in the Millcreek area and notified the Unified Police Department. Sami was taken to a police station at 3900 S 1600 E to be reunited with his father. Shortly before he was found Sami's father, Mourad Guesmi, gave an emotional interview.

"He's a good kid. He's always been with me. For the last five years, I've been a single dad and he's always been with me. We were like a team together," Mourad Guesmi said.

Mourad reported Sami missing around midnight. The teen had been last seen at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at his father's restaurant, 353 S. Main St. in Bountiful.

Lt. Dave Edwards with Bountiful City Police said Sami had asked his dad about going to Comic Con. When a ride was not able to be arranged, Sami supposedly walked home.

When Sami's father returned home later that evening, Sami was not there. Edwards said the teen left his phone behind.

Edwards said there didn't appear to be signs of foul play. Police were primarily concerned about finding the boy because of his age.
