72-year-old woman killed in Saratoga Springs car accident, crews investigate cause

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah - One woman is dead and others are injured after a multi-car accident in Saratoga Springs Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at 600 W. Crossroads Blvd. just west of Walmart at Pioneer Crossing just after 6 a.m.

Officials said 29-year-old Katie Nielson was driving westbound when she crossed the center line and hit another car, causing the death of 72-year-old Lillian Strickland, of Cedar Fort, who was inside.

Then Nielson hit a third car, giving the people inside minor injuries.

Nielson was taken to the hospital in fair condition.

Authorities said it is too early to tell what caused the wreck.

So far, no one has been ticketed or charged in this incident.
