MAGNA, Utah — A suspect was booked into jail for aggravated assault after he stabbed a man during an argument that began while he was visiting his children at his ex-girlfriend’s home in Magna Saturday night.
According to a press release from the Unified Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:20 pm. in the area of 3300 South Patrick Drive in Magna.
Police stated Kristopher Davis was visiting his children at his ex-girlfriend’s home while the woman was out with friends. When she and her friends returned, an altercation ensued between Davis and the woman’s friends, during which Davis grabbed a knife and stabbed a 26-year-old man in the abdomen.
The victim was transported to a hospital in serious condition. The man’s condition was later upgraded to fair.
Davis left the scene of the stabbing but was located by police about one block south of the home where the altercation occurred.
Davis cooperated with police and was taken into custody, and he was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for aggravated assault.
