WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- As part of National Fire Prevention Week, West Valley City fire and police departments helped USANA Health Sciences carry out a very unorthodox fire drill Thursday.
In the drill, actors dressed as zombies represented the flames and blocked escape routes and trapped employees.
Firefighters said fire drills are important at work and at home.
“We also encourage folks to do fire drills at their home, teach their children what to do when there's a fire, how to get out of the fire or out of the house, and also have a special meeting place so that we know that we have everyone accounted for,” said Joe White, a Fire Marshal for West Valley City.
The zombies participating in Thursday’s fire drill were from Fear Factory.
