PAYSON, Utah — The mother of a boy found wandering in Payson contacted police after hearing of news reports about the toddler.
According to a representative for the Payson Police Department, the boy had been staying with his grandmother and walked away from the home.
The boy was found near 1000 E and 300 N Tuesday morning and police said he was unable to give them information that would help them identify his parents. He was taken to a foster home in Payson as police worked to identify him and his parents.
Officers canvassed the area where the boy was found and spoke to the boy’s grandmother, who told them both of her grandchildren were with her. Police said the grandmother was unaware the boy had wandered away when she spoke with the officers who conducted the canvassing.
