North Carolina man arrested in southern Utah after stabbing

ST. GEORGE, Utah — A 59-year-old man is in stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery for wounds he suffered in a stabbing, and St. George police arrested a North Carolina man in connection with the incident.

According to information from the St. George Police Department, officers were dispatched on a stabbing call Tuesday around 9:45 p.m., and when they arrived the victim was “bleeding badly” from a stab wound to his abdomen but was awake and breathing.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery, and he is now listed as being in stable condition.

Police stated Christopher R. Boulware of Mount Holly, North Carolina was arrested in connection with the incident. He faces a charge of aggravated assault while using a weapon, according to booking information from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Police stated the incident is under investigation.
