Two wounded in shooting in West Valley City; suspect still at-large

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – A teen was shot in the arm and an adult was shot in the torso in West Valley City Sunday night, and police are looking for a Hispanic male who left the scene in a gray SUV or Jeep.

According to information from West Valley City PD, the shooting occurred at a park in the area of 3100 South and Bangerter.

Police did not specify what led to the shooting but said it may be gang-related.

It was not clear when the shooting occurred, but police first tweeted about the incident just before 7 p.m.

A 17-year-old was shot in the arm, and a 20-year-old was shot in the torso. Police said both victims were taken to a hospital and both are expected to survive.

Police stated they are interviewing witnesses regarding the incident. So far the suspect is described only as a Hispanic male driving a gray SUV or possibly a Jeep.
