West Jordan police chase ends with crash, two suspects in custody

WEST JORDAN, Utah - A police chase ends with a crash, two men in custody and the recovery of some stolen items in West Jordan overnight.

Officers said they spotted a car reported stolen at about 10 p.m. Thursday and tried to pull it over but the driver took off.

Police followed the car but when speeds reached unsafe levels, they stopped the chase on Main St.

Soon after, the driver crashed the stolen car near 6200 S. and 3200 W.

Authorities immediately arrested one of the suspects and the other was found in a nearby backyard after two witnesses called police about a man who had jumped the fence.

David K. Thongphon and Emilio Santiago Salazar, both 23, will likely now face numerous charges.

Officers are working to return the stolen property to its rightful owners.
