KEARNS, Utah – Unified officers are searching for two suspects accused of breaking into a Kearns home.
Officers said they were called about the home invasion when the homeowner and his 2-year-old daughter heard the security alarm go off around 8 p.m. Sunday.
Police said the victim saw two suspects come into his home through a sliding glass door.
According to authorities, the homeowner confronted the two suspects and one ran off.
The other man was armed with a knife and officers said the suspect and the homeowner got into a fight.
“Sounds like there was quite a good fight that occurred in the home,” Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell said. “Our homeowner did sustain some superficial injuries and was able to eventually fend off the intruder and the intruder fled.”
Officers set up a containment area but weren’t able to find the suspects.
Police said the armed suspect is described as a man with darker skin who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
Authorities said they would like to speak with anyone who might have information.
