It's the first big winter storm of the year and here is the forecast from Fox13 meteorologist Damon Yauney.
Widespread significant snow will affect most of Utah today and tomorrow.
Strong winds are expected to keep it gusty around eastern Utah and cold air coming behind the front will keep it frigid and snowy as the strom spreads south and east across the state throughout the afternoon.
The heaviest snow looks like it will fall during the morning, showers could let up in the afternoon in the valleys but the mountains will continue getting snow squalls.
The second part of the storm will come through tonight, and will continue to accumulate in central and norther Utah.
