Officials said Diamond was driving a white 2003 Suzuki XL7 and lost control, sending him into oncoming traffic where a semi hit him.

The semi driver, 67-year-old Steven R. Stocks of Logan, suffered minor neck and back injuries.

After colliding with the semi, Diamond hit a black Mercedes SUV.

Troopers said the driver, 39-year-old Stacey A. Finn of Sandy, and passenger, a 15-year-old from Sandy, suffered minor back and neck injuries as well as minor cuts and bruising.

UHP officials said Diamond died at the scene.

Authorities said Diamond may have been driving too fast for the snowy road conditions.

A page has been set up on YouCaring to raise funds for the man's family to be used for funeral expenses and other costs.
