THORNTON, Colo. — A suspect reportedly known as the “Scream Robber” who was on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted list was captured in Colorado Friday.
KDVR reports 25-year-old Myloh Jaqory Mason was taken into custody without incident by SWAT personnel at a motel in Thornton, Colorado Friday evening.
He faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated robbery and second-degree kidnapping, along with assault. He allegedly robbed two banks between September and November of last year, and during the first crime he and other suspects were wearing costumes and masks similar to those in the “Scream” movies.
KDVR reports the suspects allegedly threatened the tellers with guns, telling them they would be killed if they failed to open the vault.
In the second robbery, Mason and two other suspects wore skeleton masks during the violent takeover of a bank, during which two innocent bystanders were shot.
“The capture of this dangerous felon means our community is safer, because we believe Mason would have continued committing violent crimes while he was on the run,” FBI Denver Division Special Agent in Charge Thomas Ravenelle told KDVR. “I thank each of the task force members for their hard work and commitment, as they worked day and night to get him behind bars.”
Mason has been on the Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list since December 17, 2015.
