LONG BEACH, Calif. -- A police pursuit in California was a little more complicated than usual Monday, as the suspect reportedly had six pit bulls in the car and several of those dogs were loose on the freeway once the suspect finally came to a stop.
KTLA in Los Angeles reports the chase occurred Monday night along the 710 Freeway in Long Beach as California Highway Patrol pursued a blue Mercedes-Benz, and after two PIT maneuvers the driver stopped.
Police observed the six dogs inside the car and shut down all lanes of the freeway as a precaution, and as the video above shows when the driver opened the door three of the dogs got loose and began running around.
The video shows the dogs approaching the suspect, who has to pause from surrendering to gesture for her dogs to stay back. That suspect was later identified as 47-year-old Tiffini Kuuipo Tobe, according to KTLA.
Authorities rounded up the dogs, who are now being cared for by Long Beach Animal Care Services.
