BOUNTIFUL, Utah — SWAT personnel responded to a residence in Bountiful Wednesday after police responding to a report of a fight found that two suspects wanted on felony charges were inside the home, and both suspects eventually surrendered.
Lt. Dave Edwards of the Bountiful Police Department confirmed to FOX 13 News there is a SWAT situation in the area of 2700 South Orchard Drive.
Edwards said things began with a report of numerous people fighting with a homeowner. Police responded, and they learned two of those people were wanted for felony charges, including one person wanted for what Edwards called an aggravated felony.
A nearby school, Boulton Elementary, was put on a lock out status as a precaution, but once police verified the incident was contained to the original residence that safety precaution was lifted. School activities continued as normal during the lock out, Edwards said.
SWAT personnel were called to the scene due to the felony warrants against the suspects. Edwards said after SWAT breached the residence, both subjects surrendered and at least two people were taken into custody.
Edwards said the standoff has been resolved and there is no outstanding threat to the public they are aware of.
