LAPOINT, Utah – A Utah Highway Patrol trooper and a Uintah School District bus carrying 30 elementary students collided in Uintah County Wednesday and now authorities are investigating what led to the accident.
The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office said the UHP trooper pulled onto SR 121 going west when it collided with the school bus in the intersection at 10800 E.
Deputies said the bus had just left Lapoint Elementary with the elementary students when the crash happened.
No one was seriously injured but the bus and UHP cruiser had significant damage.
Officers said no one was ticketed at the time; authorities are still investigating what caused the collision.
