Rick Santorum has reportedly suspended his campaign for the presidency Wednesday, and he has also offered an endorsement in the race.
Santorum, who won the Iowa Caucus in 2012 before ultimately losing the Republican nomination to Mitt Romney, made the announcement Wednesday evening during “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren”, and Santorum said he was endorsing Senator Marco Rubio.
According to tweets from Van Susteren, Santorum said Rubio is, “a tremendously gifted young man; he will bring this country together.”
Santorum is the third GOP candidate to exit the race after the 2016 Iowa Caucuses, as Mike Huckabee ended his campaign and Rand Paul suspended his.
