Elderly man hit, killed by car while chasing dog into street in Sandy

SANDY, Utah — A 90-year-old man was hit and killed in Sandy Friday night, and police said the man was a resident at a nearby retirement home who had chased his dog into the street.

Lt. Jon Arnold of the Sandy Police Department said the man was hit and killed by a westbound vehicle on 10600 South near State Street. FOX 13 News first heard report of the incident just after 9 p.m.

The victim has been identified as David Feldman, who was a resident at a nearby retirement home. Arnold said the man was chasing a dog into the street when he was hit.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the man remained at the scene and is cooperating.
