Fuel tanker crash closes ramp to southbound I-15 at 2300 North

SALT LAKE CITY — The ramp to southbound I-15 from 2300 North in Salt Lake City is closed Wednesday night due to a crash involving a semi hauling fuel tankers.

Sgt. Todd Royce, Utah Highway Patrol, said a tanker truck rolled partly onto its side near the ramp. FOX 13 News first heard report of the crash around 9:20 p.m.

There were no reports of serious injury.

Royce said the tanker is hauling fuel, some of which has begun leaking into standing water along the side of the freeway. Another tanker is being brought in to offload the fuel from the crashed vehicle.

The clean up process is expected to take several hours, and the ramp has been closed in the meantime.
