DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — Utah Department of Transportation officials are warning motorists to plan for an overnight closure in Davis County as crews install a freeway new bridge at Hill Field Road.
Starting at 9 p.m. tonight, UDOT will close Hill Field Road under Interstate 15 as crews slide the new northbound I-15 bridge into place, UDOT officials say.
The road is expected to reopen Thursday, at 6 a.m.
During the closure, all freeway on- and off-ramps will remain open, however, motorists wanting to cross under I-15 at Hill Field Road are instructed to use exits at Antelope Drive or Layton Parkway.
Crews are reconstructing the I-15 interchange at Hill Field Road as a single-point urban interchange, according to UDOT officials. The reconstructed interchange, along with several nearby ThrU turn intersections are part of a project to improve the flow of traffic and reduce delays in the Layton area.
