LAS VEGAS — The Utes advanced to the Pac-12 Tournament championship on some last-second magic as they came from behind to beat Cal in overtime Friday, but Saturday Utah could not summon a repeat of that resilience and fell 88-57 to Oregon.
The Ducks had a commanding lead at halftime, as Utah trailed by 17 at 38-21. The Ducks’ dominance continued in the second half, and No. 8 Oregon finished with the 88-57 win.
Tyler Dorsey led Oregon with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Jakob Poeltl led the Utes in scoring with 13 points.
Utah could have earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with a win Saturday night, but the Utes, which were ranked No.12 ahead of the tournament, are still expected to go dancing come Selection Sunday.
