WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah–Investigators are calling a fire at a building in West Valley City suspicious after an abandoned building went up in flames late Wednesday night.
The fire started around 10:30pm near Redwood Road and 2500 South.
About 30 firefighters were able to put the fire out in 15 minutes.
West Valley City Battalion Chief, Jeff Fox says, ” There shouldn’t have been anybody in here. It could have been somebody outside doing something that we’re not sure of but it looks like now that it started in the shed on the exterior and extended inside.”
Most of the damage to the building appears to be in the attic space and spread with a small part of the fire reaching the 2nd floor and onto the roof.
