SALT LAKE CITY -- Around the world and here in Utah, many Christians are observing Good Friday.
The Newman Center at the University of Utah held a Stations of the Cross event Friday afternoon.
The idea behind the walk is to help people make a spiritual pilgrimage as they recall the last steps of Jesus Christ before his crucifixion.
“It's this moment for us to be, in a sense, transported,” said Father Lukasz Misko of the Newman Center. “It’s this time machine feeling when you actually feel step-by-step what Jesus experienced.”
The Stations of the Cross is a tradition which dates back to Franciscan friars in the 13th century.
