PARK CITY, Utah -- Park City police have arrested a man in connection with a robbery that occurred at a local restaurant Sunday morning.
Christopher Schutte, 46, faces first-degre felony charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary in connection with an armed robbery at Flanagan's Irish Pub & Restaurant at 438 Main St.
Schutte is accused of stealing several bottles of expensive wine from the restaurant.
An employee reported they confronted the suspect in a basement storage room as he was loading bottles of expensive wine into a duffel bag. The suspect allegedly produced a revolver and threatened the victim before leaving out of a back door that opens onto Swede Alley.
After security footage of the incident circulated on local media, police said they received several tips and they discovered Schutte is a former employee of Flanagan's.
"We're very happy that we made a quick arrest, and that wouldn't have happened without the information provided by viewers that saw the news coverage and called in some tips," said Capt. Phil Kirk, Park City Police Department. "That led to us being able to track down the suspect very quickly."
Schutte was arrested Thursday evening after Park City officers and the local drug task force (BACKNET) tracked him to the Kimball Junction Hampton Inn at 6609 N Landmark Dr.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and police said they believe Schutte is connected to other crimes in the area.
