JUAB COUNTY, Utah – Authorities have arrested a man accused of dragging a draft horse behind a truck more than once.

The Juab County Sheriff’s Office said Young Living Farms called to have an employee, Freeman Yoder, removed from the property April 1.

A witness showed investigators videos of Yoder pulling the horse behind the truck in which the animal dropped to the ground.

Authorities said after the horse fell Yoder continued to drag it toward the barn and when the truck stopped, the horse still did not get up.

Deputies said the video showed Yoder tried to get the horse back to its feet for some time but when the clip ended, the horse was still on the ground.

Other witnesses said this was at least the third time they had seen Yoder dragging the animal behind the vehicle.

Yoder was taken to the Juab County Jail on animal cruelty charges.

According to information released by the Juab County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday night, the horse has been under the continual care of a veterinarian since the incident. The press release states, “The horse has vastly improved and is expected to make a full medical recovery.”
