LOS ANGELES -- A limousine driver is shown on video hitting a car with a crowbar during a road rage incident on Tuesday afternoon.
Shanham Asbaghi told KTLA he was rear-ended by the driver of a limousine SUV on Tuesday. The altercation started on Interstate 405, according to Asbaghi.
"This limousine Yukon driver was tailgating me the whole time. That's when I got onto the 405 North. It was so bad... I actually got scared and nervous and exited early," Asbaghi said.
Asbaghi said after he exited the roadway, the limousine driver rammed the back of his vehicle.
"When I exited, he just rammed me with his car at probably 25-30 miles per hour," he said. "When he hit me, he came around to the driver's side and punched my window four or five times. Then he ran back to his car, got in his car, and drove away."
Asbaghi followed the limousine to get the vehicle's license plate so he could report the hit-and-run to police. He finally caught up to the vehicle near Sherman Way.
"He gets out of his car... pulls out a crowbar, comes to my window and swings as hard as he can. He hit my window real hard. I was in shock. That's when I called 911," he said.
Asbaghi pulled over to wait for police and called the driver's company. Police did not arrest the driver in connection with the incident.
"Because my head wasn't smashed and because the window wasn't smashed, no harm no foul is what they told me," he said.
The driver works for LA Private Car Service, according to KTLA. The company said they are aware of the incident and are currently investigating and will take appropriate action when the investigation is complete.
