DRAPER, Utah — One person was taken to a hospital with minor burn injuries Saturday after a fire broke out in a residence in Draper.

Fire crews responded to a residence consisting of three apartments in the area of 13400 South Minuteman Drive around noon.

Battalion Chief Ross Fowlks of the Unified Fire Authority said crews were able to extinguish the fire and contain the damage to a single unit of the triplex.

“We did have one person inside that did get a little bit of minor injuries, and that person has been transported up to the [University of Utah Hospital], just for evaluation,” he said.

Fowlks said the victim suffered burn-related injuries.

The fire damage was limited to one room, but the other rooms in that unit sustained smoke damage.

Fowlks said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
