WEST JORDAN, Utah – A fire overnight has destroyed the back of a West Jordan home.

Fire crews said they arrived to flames engulfing the back of the house and a large tree just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Firefighters said they had to put out the tree first and keep the flames away from nearby homes before they could put out the house.

Authorities said two people were home when the fire started; they are now staying with family.

Officials have not what may have started the fire.

No one was seriously hurt.
