SALT LAKE CITY — Around 30 children were checked out by paramedics and sent home after a bus and an SUV collided in Salt Lake City Friday afternoon.

Dennis McGowan with Salt Lake City PD said there were 30 children on the bus when the crash occurred in the area of 900 South and 200 West.

Police said it appears the driver oft he SUV either ran a red light or entered the intersection late on a yellow light, striking the bus as it proceeded on a green signal.

The children and driver were all checked out and found to be OK. The children were loaded onto a second bus to continue their journey home. The driver of the SUV was likewise uninjured.
