More than 1,700 RMP customers without power in Cottonwood Heights

SALT LAKE VALLEY — A pole fire has caused more than 1,700 Rocky Mountain Power customers to be without power in Cottonwood Heights, Monday night.

Restoration time is about 2 a.m.

Outages plagued the Wasatch Front all day as storms pummeled the valley, bringing in golf ball-sized hail and flooding homes and streets in Midvale.

Outages have also been reported in southern Utah in Brian Head. About 1,223 customers have been affected.

The cause of the outage is under investigation. Restoration is expected at 1:30 a.m.
