Water restored to West Jordan, South Jordan residents after water main break

Posted

SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah — Water has been restored to residents in the South Jordan and West Jordan communities early Saturday morning after a 42-inch pipe was ruptured by a construction crew Friday.

Linda Towns, spokeswoman Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, said the break occurred at Old Bingham Highway and 6200 West as a construction crew was boring under the road.

FOX 13 News first heard report of the break just after 3:30 p.m.

Several meter stations in both cities were affected, and residents experienced low water pressure did not have water service at all.

The five-inch hole was repaired overnight. Water was restored at about 6 a.m. Officials are asking residents to not use their sprinklers until Saturday night.
