Cougars open season with win against Wildcats

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Brigham Young University opened up the football season Saturday night and were able to come away with the win against University of Arizona.

In the first half the frontline defense were the heroes. The Cougars were able to shut out the Wildcats for two quarters with a score of 9-0 at the half.

But Arizona wasn't about to give up as the gained the lead with under two minutes left in the game.

Taysom Hill and Jamal Williams got the ball to the 16-yard line before freshman Jake Oldroyd made his first field goal as a Cougar to win the game 18-16.
