SALT LAKE CITY -- Three men believed to be the prime suspects in five recent armed robberies are in custody Tuesday morning after a chase and crash.

West Valley City police officers saw men authorities believed to be robbery suspects riding in a red Geo Metro at a Salt Lake City apartment complex near 1300 S. State St.

When officers tried to stop the car, the driver sped off and crashed into three vehicles before police were able to stop him near 300 W. South Temple.

After the crash, the suspects tried to run but police were able to make three arrests.

However, detectives determined only two of the people in the car were robbery suspects; 19-year-old Isaiah Jones and 20-year-old Tristan Walker were booked on multiple aggravated robbery charges.

Police got more information, which led them to a Motel 6 in Salt Lake City.

That's where police said they found the third suspect who is being booked into jail.

Officers said the suspects may be part of a group involved in several armed robberies over the last few days a West Valley CVS Pharmacy where suspects shot at the clerk.
