SALT LAKE CITY – The Hogle Zoo is welcoming a new addition to the family, a baby burro.
Affectionately called, “Burro-ito,” the baby was born Sept. 6.
The zoo said it has partnered with the Bureau of Land Management for the last two years to bring wild horses and burros to the zoo.
The animals arrive in April and stay at the zoo through October.
The zoo is a temporary home to two wild mustangs, two burros and now this baby.
Anyone interested in adopting the wild horses or burros after they leave the zoo in late October can contact the Hogle Zoo at (801) 584-1700 or the Utah Wild Horse and Burro Hotline at (801) 539-4050.
