Two injured after lightning strike at Zion National Park

ZION NATIONAL PARK — Two people were taken to an area hospital in stable condition Thursday evening after a lightning strike at Zion National Park.

The man and woman were hiking the Emerald Pools Trail when lightning struck a nearby tree, St. George News reports.  The strike knocked an 8-inch branch from the tree, which struck both hikers.
