IRON COUNTY, Utah – A 3 month old child and her mother were injured in a crash in southern Utah, according to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office.

In a news release, the Sheriff’s Office says the crash occurred Wednesday at 5 p.m. on State Road 56 near mile post 38.

The car rolled at least twice before coming to a rest.

According to the release, the mother was driving with two 3 month old babies in the back seat in car seats.

It appears the car seats were not attached correctly, because one of the infants came out of the car seat and was found lying inside the car.

The child’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, but she was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital.

The mother was wearing a seat belt, and she and the second child were taken to a hospital in Cedar City, with minor injuries.

Officers investigating the crash say it appears speed was a factor, according to the news release.
