MILLCREEK, Utah - The Unified Police Department is investigating after a man was found dead inside a Millcreek home.
Officers were called for a welfare check at a home near 3365 S. and 900 E. Friday night and saw blood inside.
They found 46-year-old Alaa Ibrahim Alkhatawi dead in the home.
Authorities have not said how Alkhatawi died.
Friends of the man spoke about his life Monday, saying he was a refugee who fled Iraq. See the video above for more of their comments.
His criminal history includes charges for insurance fraud and attempted possession or use of a controlled substance.
